Balustrades

Our Balustrade systems are engineered to suit the requirements of the structure, incorporating the physical requirements of strength and durability with the aesthetic and architectural requirements of the building.

Our balustrade systems have been installed throughout Sydney on many of the recent prestige developments.

Balustrades have a practical and aesthetic role. They provide a barrier along a stairs, ramp, balcony, verandah or any area that is not secured by a wall and is usually above ground level. Visually they create a consistent feel on either the inside or outside of your home or building. We have modern styles as well as federation style balustrades to suit your building.

Generally the height of a balustrade is 1m. This is measured from the finished floor surface. Floor surfaces such as tiles or carpet can make a considerable difference to the height of the balustrade.

Balustrades are built to support a person leaning on them and to prevent people from falling through them. According to the Australian Standards AS1170.1 a balustrade is required to endure a load on one point of 0.6kN, and an even load of 0.4kN that can be applied downward, outward or inward.
